It is not easy to find a job now a days, But I was so lucky that my mom was able to get me a job to the facility that she’s working. I never forget how happy and thankful I was when I got my first job here in America.  It is more like a  perfect  first job to me though there’s no such thing as a perfect first job…it is more on how you appreciate and enjoy your job, but it brings me to where I’m at now.

When I got here in NY from Louisiana I was so eager to find a job. Mom helped me to get a job even though it’s only for part time. She talk to her/our boss if they were hiring because she has a daughter (me) who would like to apply for a job. At that time they’re not hiring but they promise that once they will be needing someone they will call me.

After like about 2 weeks I received a call from the administrator asking me if I will be available for an interview. I was very happy and ecstatic to go to the interview. Little that I know, I was already hired although I was only assign in the dietary because that was the only available at that time and I didn’t have any papers to work as a health care. But of course I was so proud and happy to accept the job. Come to think of it, I had none when I come here in NY. I don’t have any income so I really don’t mind what type of job I will get as long as its a decent job and most importantly I get paid.

I think it’s about a year when they offered to give me a free class to become a health care and be certified. And not only that when I got back from my vacation in the Philippines I got promoted to the higher level Lol! I thought when I come back to work I will be a PCA but not. They promoted me to be a med-tech, I was so happy! That time I couldn’t explained how I feel but I was shaking and teary eyed. I feel so blessed!

My friend Ivy and I have many things in common. Such as, we are both Leo, love make-up, like to dress-up, love accessories, we’re both friendly Lol! And last but not the least we like SDOF,  as in,  shallow depth of field! When we got our first DSLR (same brand but different models), the first thing we learned is the DOF, we didn’t stop learning until we hit the right setting. And now we both like our DSLRs.

I HATE ZITS! do you know zits? Zit is another name given to pimples. I’ve been doing and will be doing double shift the whole months of May and June so expect me to be so stress. When I’m stress!!!! I’d start seeing a lot of annoying ZITS enjoying their stay in my skin. So, does this mean also I’ll be dealing a lot of pimples for two freaking months:( I hated it so much because it makes my face looks so eww! Who does like having pimples anyway? I just wish that I can really remove pimples without coming back next time. Their not welcome and invited to be on my face anyway, but seems like their really enjoying their stay because they don’t want to leave.

I can’t really wait for the summer so that I can do a lot of outdoors activity. Though I am happy to finally see Mr Sunshine. It’s been raining here in our area since Saturday. The most recent summer activity that I can share For this GT’s topic is the last summer year summer activity when we went to Lake Ontario, Niagara, Thousand Islands, and Hershey’s Park with my sister and nephews.

I don’t care much about expensive brand names of clothing. What is important to me is how the clothes will look on me and I will be comfortable wearing them. I have some few favorite brand of clothes and shoes.

When I go shopping I will enter every shops to check if they have something that can attract my attention, especially when its on clearance. That’s the only time you’ll see me buying branded items. Most of my clothes are not branded and expensive but they look great when I wear them, clothes are clothes, and as long as they look good, I’m happy.

However, from time to time I love to check out gianni bini shoes, shoshanna dresses, and my michelle dresses at my favorite shopping websites that carries all these 3 brands of clothing and shoes. I like these particular brands because they are comfortable to wear and they have good style.

Now, speaking of shopping I am thinking of treating myself for a shopping spree probably this coming Thursday since it‘s my day off. It will be a good way to unwind and to relax myself from a very stressful work these past week. Yay! I can’t wait. I badly need to find a long black dress for me to wear on Melissa’s wedding too! so It would be a great timing going on a shopping this weekend.

I’ve always been nervous about moving out of my parents’ house but ever since I finished college last year I’ve known it was coming soon. I found a place in Boston and got everything packed up and just last week I rented the truck and moved into my own place! I had no idea there were so many things to do before I moved (like calling the electric company and setting up internet with internetserviceboston.com) but luckily my mom is a real estate agent so she helped me check everything off the list. It was exciting to get rid of some of my old childhood stuff and buy some adult furniture! My friends helped me get everything upstairs and I’ve been moved into the new place now for just over a week. I still need to go get some dishes for the kitchen and I’m thinking of painting the living room but even with this place as imperfect as it is, it really feels like home!



I have been wanting to make a few free blog headers for my friends but I really never got a time. I’ll probably have to do it on winter seasons since I don’t get so much activities to do. I have been doing double shift too because our other med-tech is still on recovery from her surgery. I promised to give away some few free headers since I feel so blessed lately:) Its just my small way of sharing my blessing:) I have some chosen friends already who were going to get the free headers, although it would be a while since I’ll be able to start making them hahaha! To busy eh!

Most women including myself really loves to recieve a boquet of flowers in every occasions. I tell you, once you give me a bouquet of my favorite flowers you’ll see a big grin across my face. To me flowers evoke such positive reactions. They are a simble that someone you know or close to your heart is thinking about you and they are also beautiful to look at and to smell. I could understand why my mother was extremely happy when she received the custom flower delivery that papa Kevin ordered online for mom on Valentines day.

I keep imagining a scene that I am at work doing my regular boring chores when out of nowhere, there will be a delivery guy walking towards me has a bouquet of dozen roses delivered to me:) I would be jumping with Joy. I just don’t know why my boyfriend never given me any flowers.  Though I didn’t ask him why but I can sense that he prefers to give me things that I can keep forever.  Maybe next time I’ll ask him if he has problem sending me flowers Lol!

One day mom and I was watching TV together and there was an advertisement on TV about an online university. She then look at me and told me ” Ivy how can you have a secured life if you don’t listen to me. I’m telling you many times that you should get a degree by enrolling yourself to an online school.  Getting an online degree program really fits your schedule and it is the best way to do it since your working.  Don’t you know that I only want the best for you and getting a degree is really important because it will help you to to find a good job”.

I know mom just wanted me to have a better and brighter future but honestly, sometimes  this is one of the reasons why I don’t want to start a conversation with her because once she give an advice she really wants me to do it ASAP! and she wanted me to listen to every word she say. If I don’t agree to all her opinions it will lead to an arguments. Sometimes it is to much for me to listen all her advice because she repeats them over and over again like a broken record Lol!

Anyhow I kind of really considering mom’s opinions to start looking for an affordable and reliable online university. I’m sure there are so many available online but sometimes it can be difficult to choose which one I will consider, especially that I am still not % willing to enroll because I am scared if my brain and body can really handle the pressure since the course I want would really takes a lot of effort. Maybe I’ll just have to settle and be satisfied of what I have now?
